Privacy policy
Effective 2026-08-17
In short: we collect the minimum needed to deliver your license and product updates, we don't track you, and we never sell or share your data.
Who we are
The data controller is Caprior (Israel). Requests about your data: licensing@octotor.com.
What we collect
When you register: your name, your email address, and optionally your company. The web server also keeps standard short-lived technical logs (IP address, time, requested page) for security and abuse prevention. The theme toggle stores your preference in your browser only — this site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
Why
To deliver your license file and install instructions, and to send occasional product-update mail — the thing you signed up for. Every mail carries an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing stops the mail, nothing else.
Who processes it
Mails are sent through Microsoft 365, our mail provider. No other third party receives your data.
Retention
Registration data is kept for as long as it is needed to serve your license and our contact with you. Unverified registrations are purged automatically. You can ask for deletion at any time: licensing@octotor.com.
Your rights
Ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted: licensing@octotor.com. You can also complain to a supervisory authority — in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority; in the EU, your local data protection authority.
The product is not this website
Octotor runs on your own VM. What it sends and receives is documented on the security page. One flow involves us: the product's daily version check fetches a public version file from get.octotor.com — our server. The request carries no identifiers and no instance data, but like any web request, the server sees its source address, and standard connection logs are kept for security purposes. The check can be switched off in Settings.
