It worked last week: see what changed
A user calls the help desk: it worked last week, and now it doesn't. Without a record of changes, nobody knows what changed. Octotor keeps that record for every computer, so you know where to start.
Watch it
It worked last week. Octotor shows what changed. 1:15
The same story in just over a minute.
Every change is recorded
Octotor collects each computer's details on a schedule, several times a day, and records every change: which attribute changed, from what, to what, and when. So you can spot, for example, an OS build that moved, an account that got disabled, a new logged-in user, or a different switch port.
Where to look
- The Changes tab: open the computer, then Changes. It lists every change from the last 30 days and who made it. The old value is crossed out, and the new value follows the arrow.
- The timeline: it shows these changes together with everything else that happened on the computer, such as collector runs and other jobs, newest first. Open an entry to see where it came from, and the details, for example a drop in free disk space.
Try it yourself
The live demo needs no account. A guided tour walks you through it step by step, on fictional data.
